Alumina Ceramic Star Wheel & Wire Guide Disc for Winding and Textile Machines | Wear-Resistant Al2O3

On a winding or spooling line the guide is the part the wire touches thousands of times per minute. These six-arm alumina star discs separate and guide wire or yarn with a polished, groove-free alumina surface: no scratching of enamel or coating, no static build-up, and no metal pickup to contaminate the wire.

Compared with hardened steel or coated guides, alumina runs cooler against moving wire and wears far slower, often outliving several batches of the metal parts it replaced. Arm count (typically 4, 6 or 8), arm profile, width and bore are machined to your machine's pitch and speed, with static balancing available.

Key properties: polished wire-contact surfaces at Ra <=0.4 um protecting enamel and coatings; hardness around 1500 HV for a long life in continuous duty; electrically insulating with no eddy currents or static discharge into the wire; custom arm geometry per drawing; lightweight and balanced for high-speed winding.

Typical applications: wire winding and spooling machines, textile yarn guiding and tensioning, fiber optic and fine wire production, enamelled wire manufacturing lines, and any high-speed wire or yarn contact point.

Custom manufacturing: send your drawing or a used star wheel and we will reproduce arm count, spacing and bore to fit your machine. Bearings and metal hubs can be quoted on request. Prototypes from 1 piece, 7-15 days. ISO 9001 certified, RoHS 2.0 compliant.

Alumina Ceramic Star Wheel / Wire Guide Disc for Winding Machines

Custom non-standard alumina (Al2O3) ceramic part · CNC precision machining · OEM / ODM · Hero Ceramic by Haorui Industrial

Product Overview

On a winding or spooling line the guide is the part the wire touches thousands of times per minute. These six-arm alumina star discs separate and guide wire or yarn with a polished, groove-free alumina surface: no scratching, no static build-up, and no metal pickup to contaminate the wire.

Compared with hardened steel or coated guides, alumina runs cooler against moving wire and wears far slower — the guide often outlives several batches of the metal parts it replaced. Arm count, arm profile and bore are machined to your machine's pitch and speed.

Custom Machining (OEM / ODM)

Haorui Industrial has machined non-standard advanced ceramics since 2006 (ISO 9001). Send us a 2D drawing (PDF/DWG) or a sample: we quote with tolerance and material recommendation, produce 1–10 piece prototypes in 7–15 days, and keep the process data for repeat batches. Materials available: 95% / 99% / 99.5% Al2O3, ZrO2, Si3N4, SiC, AlN, macor.

FAQ

Will the alumina guide scratch my wire?

No — the guide faces are polished to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm and are harder than the wire, so it is the wire's coating that survives, not the guide.

Can you match the arm spacing of my existing star wheel?

Yes. Send the drawing or the used part; we reproduce arm count, spacing and bore to fit your machine.

Do you supply with bearings or shafts?

We supply the ceramic part; assembly with metal hubs or bearings can be quoted on request.

Certifications & Trade Shows

Quality you can verify: Haorui Industrial operates an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system (scope: precision mechanical ceramics parts), and our alumina and zirconia ceramics are RoHS 2.0 compliant — tested per IEC 62321 by an accredited third-party laboratory. We exhibit every year at CIOE (China International Optoelectronic Exposition) and semiconductor industry expositions in Shenzhen — visit our booth to see the parts in person.
