Black zirconia is a material with special properties and great applications. It is made of zirconium oxide (ZrO2), which is given a black appearance by the addition of specific additives and a special process.

Black zirconia ceramics do not differ significantly from conventional white zirconia ceramics in terms of material nature, but are unique in their distinctive black appearance. This colour is achieved by adding an extra step to the original production process, which makes the production process relatively complex. Typically, black zirconia ceramics are produced in two main ways: by moulding and sintering black zirconia powder directly, or by "blackening" white zirconia ceramics using post-processing techniques. These additional processes naturally result in higher costs for black zirconia ceramics.

Black zirconia ceramic nozzle, along with white aluminum oxide ceramic nozzle, is widely used in automation equipment as a common industrial nozzle. It is manufactured using zirconium oxide as the primary raw material, undergoing a complex process to enhance its wear resistance compared to plastic nozzles. As a result, the service life of black zirconia ceramic nozzles is significantly extended.
